[MOORHEAD, MN, May 7, 2020] Heather Keeler has won the DFL endorsement for the Minnesota House District 4A seat.
“I am honored to have earned the support of the DFL delegates in our district,” Keeler said. “I
appreciated the opportunity to get to know so many of the delegates through long conversations with them about their passions and their concerns. I look forward to continuing to build strong, trusting connections in our community. ”
Delegates to the DFL convention were elected at the March caucuses. Due to the coronavirus crisis, the DFL moved its conventions to an online balloting system. Candidates were required to receive at least 60% of the vote in order to win the endorsement. Other candidates in the endorsement race were Will Hagen and Chuck Hendrickson.
“I believe we create change through collaboration and community understanding. With inclusive decision making, we can work together to make Minnesota a place that our children will be as proud to be from as we are. Every voice in our community deserves to be heard, and I am ready to listen,” said Keeler.
The Minnesota House District 4A seat is currently held by Rep. Ben Lien, who announced earlier this year that he is not running for reelection. District 4A includes the city of Moorhead and Oakport Township.
Heather Keeler’s campaign platform includes investing in educational equity, providing quality health care for all, expanding affordable housing, closing the pay gap, and increasing broadband access. She holds a B.A. in project management and an M.A. in educational leadership, both from MSUM.
